Finger Pointing to the Earth (not completed)
Finger Pointing to the Earth is an investigation into the existential significance of the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Inka Stafrace, director of Hope in a Slingshot (2010) addresses the unquantifiable emotional capital that is invested in the: Holy Land, Palestine, Israel, Canaan, call it what you will, need to, have been taught to or what suits your needs, using qualitative research.
Possibly the most debated, photographed and analyzed conflicts in the world have occurred on this piece of land. Inka poses the very simple question – Why? Why does it all happen here? What is the reason beyond politics and religion – what is the existential significance of this land and all the conflicts upon it, the latest being known as the Israeli Palestinian conflict?
Shot between 2010 – 2013
