Rina Kedem is one of the founders of Eco ME (Middle East).
Eco ME is an initiative that provides a space in the West Bank for both Palestinians and Israelis to meet. It does not yet have the luxury of going fully public about it's work so I cannot publish the part of the interview that talks about this ground up movement based in Area C.
I decided to publish other parts of the interview because I found Rina to be thoroughly interesting and engaging. The interview begins with the challenges of normalization through to ownership of land being on par with ownership of a lover or partner. She speaks frankly of her time in the army when she believed in the Zionist ideal. An ideal that curiosity has led her to question in depth.
This interview was conducted as part of the investigation into the significance of the current situation on the Holy Land for the documentary Finger Pointing to the Earth, which is still a work in progress and in need of funding. I hope you find it as interesting as I did.
